Georgia Researchers Discover That CBD Reduces Coronavirus Lung Damage

A study conducted by researchers at the Dental College of Georgia and Medical College of Georgia determined that using CBD decreases lung damage incurred by coronavirus (COVID-19). A “cytokine storm” occurs while a person is battling coronavirus which causes lung damage.

The researchers concluded that using CBD improved oxygen levels and reduced inflammation, SciTech Daily reported. The study also indicates that CBD helped to reduce apelin levels associated with coronavirus. The use of CBD helped normalize apelin levels, helping to regulate blood pressure and decreases inflammation.

Dr. Babak Baban, a Dental College of Georgia immunologist, said, “It was dramatic in both directions.”

Dr. Jack Yu said, “CBD almost brought it back to a normal level.”

Three study groups were used. The group that was treated with both POLY intranasally and CBD showed greater improvement.
