New Georgia Law Allows In-State Medical Marijuana Cultivation

House Bill 324 allows for in-state medical marijuana cultivation in Georgia. Private companies with approved licensing are now allowed to grow medical marijuana.

When the medical marijuana is ready for distribution, pharmacies will be permitted to dispense it, WJCL 22 News reported.

Dispensaries are required to obtain a license from the state. They will not be permitted to open and sell medical marijuana until licensing is in place.

It’s not known when the first batches of medical marijuana will be ready for patients in Georgia.
